An Investigation of the Effects of Additives and Burning Temperature on the Properties of Products Based on Loam

This study aimed to identify the composition of ceramic mass for manufacture bricks with improved properties based on local loam using diatomite and bentonite clay. For experiments, from Almaty deposit (Kazakhstan) was applied as primary product, used production grades 75 100. Diatomite Zhalpak Utesai deposits highly plastic clay Darbazin were additives. An analysis burned products demonstrated that supplementation in lowers average density increases compressive strength samples at 1000 1100 °C. Herewith, optimal amount add is 15%, a fractional 0.315–0.16 mm less than 1 mm, respectively. It established additions make it possible obtain after burning 1170 °C corresponding 2nd class terms M 400 500.
